Delete, backspace and more on a Mac

Ever since I switched from a PC to a Mac there are things that I miss, some more than others but I really miss having a full size keyboard and keys like home, end, and the fact that my backspace key is now called delete and that I no longer have a delete key.  It’s those little things you take for granted but that, when gone are really missed.  Below is a chart with keys on mac to mimic those missing PC keys.


Windows key Mac key Use
Delete ⌦or


Deletes the character to the right.
Alt Option Enters special characters, such as é.   You can also long press the e key and press the number value for the character you want.
Control Command (⌘) Performs actions or shortcuts.Copy and paste become ⌘C and ⌘V respectively.




Command (⌘)-Left Arrow 

Command (⌘)-Right Arrow

Use the Command(⌘) and left – right arrow keys to go to the beginning or end of the current line, and use the Command(⌘) and up – down arrow keys to go to the beginning or end of the current  document.
Print Screen Command (⌘)-Shift-3Command (⌘)-Shift-4 Takes pictures of the screen.Command (⌘)-Shift-3 takes a picture of the entire screen. Command (⌘)-Shift-4 takes a picture of the part of the screen you select.
