Jarvis

Jarvis is a private, self-hosted AI assistant that helps its owner work across his own Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides, from one conversation.

What Jarvis is

Jarvis is a personal assistant application used by one person, its owner, with his own Google accounts. It is not a commercial product and is not available to the public: there are no sign-ups, no customer accounts and no other users.

Jarvis runs entirely on a private server that its owner owns and operates. No part of Jarvis is cloud hosted. Keeping the assistant, its connection to Google and its credentials on self-hosted infrastructure keeps them under the owner's direct control, for security and compliance reasons.

What Jarvis does

The owner asks Jarvis for help in plain language. Jarvis uses Google's official APIs to carry out the request in the owner's own Google account:

Gmail

Search and summarize email, surface what needs attention, draft replies, and send or organize messages once the owner approves.

Google Calendar

Check the owner's schedule and availability, prepare for upcoming meetings, and create or update events once the owner approves.

Google Drive

Find files by name or content, read them, and organize, upload or share them at the owner's request.

Google Docs

Read and summarize documents, draft new documents and make edits the owner asks for.

Google Sheets

Read spreadsheet data, answer questions about it, and create or update sheets the owner asks for.

Google Slides

Review presentations and create or edit slides the owner asks for.

How Jarvis works

  1. The owner connects an account. Jarvis uses Google's standard sign-in and consent screen. The owner sees exactly which permissions are requested and can decline any of them.
  2. The owner asks for something. For example, “What's on my calendar tomorrow?” or “Draft a reply to the latest email from my accountant.”
  3. Jarvis fetches only what the request needs. It calls the relevant Google API, uses the result to answer, and does not keep its own copy of the owner's Google data.
  4. The owner approves changes. Before Jarvis sends, deletes, shares, creates or edits anything, it shows the owner what it will do and waits for confirmation.

Why Jarvis requests access to Google data

Jarvis requests access to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides only so the owner can read, organize and act on his own email, schedule and files through the assistant. Jarvis does not use Google data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not use it to train AI or machine-learning models.

The full details of what Jarvis accesses, how it is used and protected, and how to revoke access are in the Jarvis Privacy Policy. Use of Jarvis is governed by the Jarvis Terms of Service.
